The LVYSA Board needs the help of the parents and coaches to help with improvements to the facility. Comments have been made that the ballpark could look better - now is your chance to help make that happen. If you have a skill or any supplies that you feel could benefit the league we want to know. We welcome suggestions on improvements that could be made. We hope that by bringing a problem or suggestion to the board means that you are willing to be part of the solution.
Special Thanks...
There is a small group of people that are at the ballpark every weekend working to make the fields ready for all the players. The Board could not get the fields ready without these people and we are thankful for them. However, our idea is that having one person working hard 50 times doesn’t get the work done, but 50 people working hard one time will.
We need...
- Front loaders, backhoes or any equipment that can be used to improve the fields
- Welding skills that can fabricate portable L-screens to protect coaches/players in the cage and in batting practice
- Painting supplies or skills to help paint logos, panther paws and baseballs on dugouts, snack shack, bleachers and equipment building
- Clean topsoil to repair the outfields
- Small crushed limestone to build up pitching mounds
- Drought tolerant plants and mulch; rubberized mulch for batting cage
- Contacts with any companies or others that can donate fencing materials, concrete or gravel
- Skills and supplies to build a flowerbox/container around the flag pole to house the American Legion Stone that is always under dirt and mud
- Time to volunteer at the Snack Shack, either on your teams game night or on an off night - responsible adults needed
- Any other services that can be donated for the league
